Head Coach Jedidiah Johnson

Former Skyhawk basketball standout and Rock Falls native Jedidiah Johnson returns for his third year as the Skyhawks Head Women’s Basketball Coach.  Before becoming the head coach for the women’s team, Johnson worked with Russ Damhoff as the assistant coach for the men’s team.

Johnson played for Sauk during the 2000-02 seasons. He then transferred to Missouri Baptist University (MBU) in St. Louis where he played basketball for two years. There he was an important part of the MBU Spartan team that qualified for the 2004 NAIA National Tournament. After finishing his playing career, Johnson stayed on at MBU to accept an assistant coaching position under former coach, Tony Tompkins.

Johnson, who is also the SVCC Fitness Center and Weight Room Coordinator, is a Rock Falls High School graduate and was a co-captain on the 1999 Rock Falls state championship basketball team. Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from MBU in 2007. Johnson is now working on his master’s in sport management and resides in Rock Falls with his wife, Cari, and son, Jalen.  

Assistant Coach Jordan Chappell

Former Rock Falls standout Jordan Chappell will be entering her first season as the Skyhawk's

Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. Chappell, a 2008 Rock Falls graduate, earned

All-Conference and All Area honors in consecutive years for the Rockets basketball team as

well as set school records for the most three-pointers in a season and career.Chappell took her

talents and a schlolarship to Parkland Community College in Champaign, IL. After two years,

she accepted a scholarship to St. Ambrose University where she will earn her Bachelor Degree

in Elementary Education this year. She plans on immediately furthering her education by

pursuing her graduate degree in speech pathology in 2013. Chappell is looking forward

to the season and hopes to influence the team with her energy and experience as a player.

She believes that as a member of the staff she can contribute the overall success of the

program, school, and community.
