Purpose:

To provide high quality services to persons with disabilities. Gateway is dedicated to the health, welfare, safety, self=determination, civil rights, and community inclusion of all we serve. The motto is "Empowering People -- Creating Community."

Remarks:

Also serves Marshall County. Office hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, except for holidays. Services include early intervention therapies (developmental, physical, and speech), play groups for children from birth to 3 years old with developmental delays or disabilities, respite for families from full time caregiving, Day Program of educational and recreational activities on-site and in the community, Community Employment Training and support jobs in the community, housing (9 group homes; average of 4 people per home), support for those living primarily on their own, and Faith in Action Program (fostering friendships between persons with disabilities). Transportation is provided by Bureau Area Rural Transit (BART) for individuals who are disable, elderly, or needing specialized transportation.
