To provide food to the families of low income.

The food pantry only serves residents of Shannon and Lanark. Food baskets are distributed on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Food baskets include one type of fresh meat such as chicken or hamburger, one type of canned meat such as tuna or beef, box(es) of macaroni and cake mix, and other great, healthy food. Recipients are offered to choose the vegetables, fruits, and cereal for their baskets. Amount and variety depend on the gracious generosity of the community and the government. Eligibility to receive services are based on the monthly income of the individual or family. An individual must have a monthly income of $1,106 or less. A family of 2 must have a monthly income of $1,346 or less. A family of 3 must have a monthly income of $1,671. A family of 4 must have a monthly income of $2,006. Monthly income eligibility increases by $325 for each additional family member. There are seven churches in Carroll County that are involved with this food pantry and alternate the distribution of food each month.
