Purpose:
United Way of Whiteside County provides dynamic leadership in united people and resources to create lasting change that improves lives and strengthens our communities. The organization's mission is to meet the needs of individuals in distress.
Remarks:
The mission is accomplished by providing support to member agencies. The supported agencies, in return, provide services that benefits our community in Whiteside County.
The United Way houses and works with other community organizations and private funders to operate the individual partnership programs. The United Way of Whiteside County provides information and referral services. The Literacy is Fun for Everyone (LIFE) programs provides free hardcover books for newborns to age five. The United Way of Whiteside County also has a Pharmacy Assistance Program that offers vouchers to those who can not afford to fill emergency prescriptions. A voucher is worth up to $50 at the Medicine Shoppe. Vouchers A short application must be filled out prior to receiving vouchers. Clients must qualify every 90 days. Let's Feed Our Children program is a part of United Way of Whiteside County that provides a free lunch to children during the summer.
