Purpose:

To improve the health status of Whiteside County through prevention and collaboration with clinical, educational and regulatory interventions.

Remarks:

Services that WCHD offers are infectious disease control, immunizations, home care, family and child health services, family planning services, and family care. The WCHD holds screenings for vision, hearing and lead. The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program and Healthy Start are a couple programs offered at WCHD. The health department also provides care for high risk babies. The health department offers dental care and behavioral health. The health department also helps pregnant women in applying for financial assistance. Also offered at WCHD is family case management where there are home visits to assist at-risk families in obtaining optimal health. Morrison is the clinic for immunizations, screenings, health services, infectious diseases, the WIC, and case management. The Rock Falls clinic offers family planning, physicals, and STD services. Appointments for the community care clinic and the dental clinic are taken Monday through Friday. Walk-ins are available everyday for immunizations at the Rock Falls branch. Eligibility varies on the program. There is a sliding fee scale to those that are eligible.
