As Director of the Instructional Technology department, I lead a talented group of professionals who support faculty and staff as we strive to improve student learning, student retention and student success at SVCC. My experience in college teaching, research, faculty development and leadership tells me that my role is to be more of a light than a judge, to inspire and support, and to tailor our services to fit the needs of individual faculty members, as well as the strategic goals of the College. We attempt to monitor trends in higher education, especially community college teaching; new technology tools applied to learning and professional productivity; and best practices and innovative approaches for providing faculty and staff development. Everyday, we design learning opportunities for our clients, partner with them on instructional projects, and support them as they apply new strategies to their teaching or other professional duties. Education: BA and MS (psychology), Ph.D. (instructional design and technology).
