Kick it up a Notch
Kick It Up a Notch Program
Print the Kick it Up a Notch Agreement.
“Kick It Up a Notch” Program is an individual goal setting program that motivates participants to achieve a measurable goal by the end of the designated time frame (i.e. weight loss, reduction in BMI, participate in a 5k or 10k race, marathon or triathlon event). There is a $5 participation fee for this program.
Each participant is required to complete the attached agreement with the designated goal and time frame for completion as well as provide a check made out to the participant’s charity of choice in any amount between $25 and $500.
The agreement and check are placed in an envelope provided, sealed and placed in the Business Office vault for safekeeping. The outside of the envelope should indicate the individual’s initials and the deadline for the designated goal.
The participant’s envelope will be opened on the designated deadline date and a determination will be made whether or not he/she has achieved his/her goal.
IF THE GOAL IS ACHIEVED, the participant receives his/her check back and an award for completing the goal.
IF THE GOAL IS NOT ACHIEVED, the check will be distributed to the participant’s charity.
Considerations:
All measurements of weight or BMI will be made at the beginning and end of the designated time frame in the College Fitness Center by the Fitness Center staff. Failure to comply with this requirement disqualifies the participant in the Kick It Up a Notch program and results in a forfeiture of the check.
Only the participant, Fitness Center staff (if measurements are needed) and a designated member of the Wellness Committee will have knowledge of the information on the signed agreement.
If the measurable goal is to prepare/train for an upcoming event (i.e. marathon, triathlon, etc.) then the deadline should be scheduled for after the date of the designated event to determine if the goal has been met.
Should circumstances arise outside the control of the participant that cause him/her to be unable to complete the program (i.e. health issues, job change), his/her envelope will be returned unopened and he/she will be released from the program.
As much as the Wellness Committee wishes to acknowledge the accomplishments of a job well done, we respect the right of the participant to not share this information with any other employee or general public without his/her consent.
