Purpose / Notes:
To improve the health status of Whiteside County through prevention and collaboration
with clinical, educational and regulatory interventions. Services that WCHD offers
are infectious disease control, immunizations, home care, family and child health
services, and health promotion. The WCHD holds screenings for vision, hearing, and
lead. The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program are offered at the
Rock Falls office. The health department also provides care for high-risk babies and
helps pregnant women in applying for financial assistance. Also offered at WCHD is
family case management where there are home visits to assist at-risk families in obtaining
optimal health. Walk-ins are available every day for immunizations at the Rock Falls
branch. Both walk-in and appointment times available Monday-Friday 8:30-4 pm. Please
call for more information. Previous immunization records need to be available. parents
or legal guardians must sign a consent form for children. There are no income guidelines.
