Art: Digital Media Arts: Entry Level
The purpose of the Digital Media Arts Certificate is to provide the introductory experiences necessary to enter the fields of digital media and communication arts. Students who earn the DMA Certificate may also pursue further education in a number of fields of study and/or apply their skills to in-house advertising, printing, publishing and graphic design needs for small business employers.
Work and Employment
This certificate is for students who are not generally interested in theoretical foundations
of art and color, and are more career-focused on entry-level positions in small firms
who generate marketing content. Students will still have the option of choosing either
traditional art skills, or digital art skills, as they prepare for latter courses
in the certificate such as the aforementioned motion graphics and film and video.
Special Considerations
To obtain employment in this area, most individuals will be required to possess good
computer skills, which include typing skills.
