Skyhawk Women's Tennis
Fall 2024 Team Outlook
The Skyhawk tennis team has three returning players from last year's National Qualifier Region 4 team. They are Emma Oswalt, who played two singles and one double, Joy Zigler, who played four singles and two doubles, and Riley Dunn, who played five singles and three doubles this year. All these ladies have the experience and dedication to help the new ladies reach their full potential.
The new players this year are Laurel Chavera, Julia Rhodes, Layla Tablante, and Katie Kammerer. Rhodes and Chavera are from Newman High School, both great players having previously played on varsity. Tablante played for the Sterling High School varsity team and will be a great asset to the team. Kammerer, from Princeton High School, also has varsity experience under her belt. All these ladies played in high school and have the skills, knowledge, and confidence to compete at the collegiate level.
This season, our goal is to be in the top three teams at regionals to qualify for nationals again. Our region is very competitive, and we will have to play our best tennis all season to achieve our goal. These ladies will be working hard at practice to achieve this goal.
This women’s team has qualified for the NJCAA National Championship the past 6 years in a row.
