Master Promissory Note Requirements
The Master Promissory Note (MPN) is the legal document for your loan which is completed with the Department of Education. This document, as long as you continue to process loans with the Department of Education, is completed once starting with the 2006 - 2007 academic year. This is called a serial loan document which means that the Master Promissory Note will be used for all loans processed with the Department of Education in the future.
For all first time borrowers:
If you experience difficulty completing the MPN with the Department of Education you may come to the Office of Financial Assistance once you have received your Loan Approval Form to complete the MPN. You will need complete information for two references (name, address, and telephone number). Additionally you will need your FAFSA pin number. The pin number will be used to submit your MPN to the Department of Education. Please be advised that your loan will not processed without the completion of the MPN.
