CNA Program Objectives

Upon successful completion of the nursing assistant program, the student will be able to:

  •  Identify the roles, functions and responsibilities of the nursing assistant as a member of the health care team. This will be assessed through written examinations.
  •  Utilize the knowledge and skills needed to give safe client care as a beginning nursing assistant in the healthcare facilities under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This will be assessed through clinical evaluations and written examinations.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of the dignity and worth of all persons. This will be assessed through clinical evaluations.
  • Communicates effectively with other members of the health care team. This will be assessed through clinical evaluations.
  • Recognize the need for continued learning in order to be an effective nursing assistant. This will be assessed through clinical evaluations and written exams
