*Note: As of July 1, 2015, the In-district Tuition Policy for Veterans supersedes this policy.
Policy Regarding Tuition Charges for Students Utilizing Post 9/11 Educational Benefits at Sauk Valley Community College
Effective beginning the 2013-2014 academic year, pursuant to Illinois Public Act 098-0306, Sauk Valley Community College will bill students utilizing Post 9/11 G.I. Bill at a rate not to exceed the current in-district Rate.
Students who reside out of district or out of state will be assessed the actual out of district or out of state charges at the time of registration and will be coded as such for reporting purposes.
After registration, if the student has completed a Veterans Educational Benefits Cover Sheet and informed the Veterans Services Advisor that they wish to utilize Post 9/11 G.I. Bill benefits for that term, the Veterans Services Advisor will verify the student's eligibility for Post 9/11 educational benefits and that the registration meets the requirements of utilizing the benefit. The student may be required to provide a copy of their Certificate of Eligibility for Post 9/11 or a copy of their DD214, Member 4. If the student meets these requirements, a waiver will be applied to their account for the difference between their actual tuition and the in-district tuition and the student will be certified to the Department of Veterans Affairs for the Post 9/11. Tuition charges billed to the student, the VA and/or the State of Illinois will reflect the appropriate in-district tuition.
